We respectfully remind guests that a reservation constitutes a contract whether in writing, email or by telephone between the guest and The Feathered Nest. An administration charge of £25 will apply if you amend or cancel your booking after it has been confirmed by us. No shows will be charged the full price of the accommodation booked and confirmed. We regret there can be no allowance or reduction for curtailment of holidays. We would recommend purchasing travel insurance from a third party to cover you in the event of cancellation.

c. Use of Cookies

Our Website use "cookies" to help you personalise your online experience. A cookie is a text file that is placed on your hard disk by a Web page server. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. Cookies are uniquely assigned to you, and can only be read by a web server in the domain that issued the cookie to you.

One of the primary purposes of cookies is to provide a convenience feature to save you time. The purpose of a cookie is to tell the Web server that you have returned to a specific page. For example, if you personalise The Feathered Nest pages, or register with our Website or services, a cookie helps The Feathered Nest to recall your specific information on subsequent visits. This simplifies the process of recording your personal information, such as billing addresses, shipping addresses, and so on. When you return to the same Website, the information you previously provided can be retrieved, so you can easily use The Feathered Nest features that you customised.

You have the ability to accept or decline cookies. Most Web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. 5. Accessibility

Venue Accessibility

Please view our "Accessibility Statement" for guests visiting The Feathered Nest.

Website Accessibility

The Feathered Nest recognises the importance of providing a website that is accessible to all user groups, including the disabled, the visually impaired and those with motor deficiencies and cognitive disabilities.

The below statement explains the online accessibility features we have implemented to help you use our website. They help to improve navigation for screen readers, keyboard navigation and text-only browsers among other things.

You can find out about this website's accessibility features in the sections below:

  • General information
  • Background, text and colour
  • Non-text elements
  • Links and navigation
  • Frames and tables

Please let us know if you have any questions or feedback regarding the accessibility of this site or if you experience any difficulty using it. Alternatively you can call us on +44 (0)1993 833030.

General information

We've designed this site with accessibility in mind. Some of the general features include:

  • The use of clear, simple language which is easy to understand.
  • The use of common web conventions.
  • Avoiding the use of blinking or flickering elements.
  • The use of validated HTML and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)

Standards Compliance
We have strived to ensure our website conforms to level compliance as specified by the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). In some cases the website provides enhanced features via JavaScript. Our goal is to provide equivalent functionality for users who are not able to use JavaScript and we are working hard to achieve this.
We use a number of tools to perform automated accessibility tests, but this is just one aspect of our testing procedure. Being automated, these tools are not as reliable as expert evaluation. Pages are also tested in a variety of screen reading applications.

Background, text and colour
Careful use of text colours, size and background colours can help people with a range of visual impairments. Here's what we've done:

Colours
Our site is usable by anyone with colour deficient vision. We've checked the site's font and background colour to ensure there are no combinations against the different colour blindness conditions and ensured that all information is still clear.
We've designed all pages on our website so that all information that is conveyed with colour is also available without colour.

Font and text size
While we've used clear, legible font for all text and headings. In the Firefox browser, select View, then Text Size, and then choose increase, or decrease.

Style sheets
This site uses cascading style sheets (CSS) for visual layout. Where possible, we've also made our website navigable, usable and readable if your browsing device does not support style sheets.

Non-text elements
Providing alternatives for non-text elements gives visually impaired and screen-reader users wider access to our website.

Images, videos and other non-text elements
We have made it possible to use our site without having to view graphics or images. All non-text elements, such as images, animations, symbols, audio, video and multimedia have text equivalents. We've done this by providing descriptive alt attributes for them. Purely decorative graphics or formatting images have empty alt attributes.

Links and navigation
Structuring a website so it is simple and streamlined to use helps to improve the experience for all. For example, placing page items in a logical order and making the website easy to navigate helps people with visual impairments, motor deficiencies and cognitive disabilities.

Navigation
We have made navigation links consistent between pages throughout the site. The site is also fully accessible using only the keyboard and can be navigated with scripting disabled.

Pop-up windows
Our website does not use pop-up windows unless they are appropriate. Acceptable cases, for example, are when it is important to see the browser window you have just navigated from in the background.

Forms and tables
Clearly labelled tables help readers to understand the content on a page and to fill in content into correct form fields.

Frames
Although there are a limited number of critical pages on this site which use frames, we try not to use frames as they are a barrier to accessibility. Any frames which we do use have descriptive titles to help screen readers to make sense of the content of the page.

Tables
We do occasionally use tables for layout but we ensure we follow WCAG guidelines. This means tables do not have any structural mark-up for visual purposes and they make sense when presented in a linear way.

6. Wireless Internet Service (Wifi)

Terms and Conditions for Use of Wireless Internet Service (Wifi)

a. Internet Services:

Feathered Nest Hospitality Ltd. ("The Feathered Nest Inn" / "The Inn" / ”we” / “our” / “us”) provides you with a wireless access to the internet in the guest rooms and in all areas of The Inn. By accessing the service you are agreeing to obey the terms and conditions listed below (the “Terms”). If you do not agree to the Terms, please do not access the service.

b. Fair Use:

We would like to ensure that all of our guests have an enjoyable internet experience during their stay. We have therefore implemented a ‘fair use’ policy to ensure that we can continue to provide a fast and reliable service.

We may monitor the performance of our network and the use of it by our guests. If we notice that a guest is using it in excess of what is expected from reasonable normal use and where such excessive use is affecting other guests, particularly during busy times, we may restrict usage. If you do not use file sharing software or download large files from the internet then you should not be affected by our fair use policy. However, if it becomes clear that heavy downloading, peer-to-peer networking, or excessive streaming (i.e. more than simply streaming programme content from websites such as BBC iPlayer, 4 On Demand, or itv.com) is taking place then we may contact you to ask you to reduce your use to allow our other customers to share the system fairly. If you continue to do so, or if you persistently exceed normal use to the extent that it affects our network and other user’s enjoyment of the service, then we reserve the right to restrict or deny you access to the network.

c. Our Obligations to You:

We will use our reasonable endeavours to ensure that you are provided with free, uninterrupted service 24 hours a day. We will not be liable however, for any reason if the service is not available at any time for any period, nor for any loss of data or damage to equipment you suffer as a result of using our service. We may suspend access at any time and for any reason, including routine or emergency maintenance of the servers. For this reason we strongly recommend that you regularly save any work you are doing whilst using the service.

d. Your Obligations to Us:

the service we provide is intended to be used for general purposes, including accessing the worldwide web, email, messaging services and chatrooms. You undertake to us that you will use the services responsibly and that you will behave in a lawful, honest and proper manner when accessing the services. Without prejudice to any other provision of this agreement, we may terminate your use of the service at any time without notice if we become aware of any behaviour that has a negative effect on our equipment or network or the use by other customers of our equipment or network or the internet in general, or which damages, or has the potential to damage, our reputation.

Without prejudice to the generality of paragraph above, you may not: use the service for any illegal purpose (including but not limited to breaching any intellectual property or computer misuse legislation and downloading or uploading any illegal material); send any unsolicited commercial email (or “spam”) or any activity relating to it; carry out any “hacking” activities such as attempting to access systems without authorisation or carry out denial of service attacks.

e. Data Protection

You may be required to provide us with certain personal information. We will use such personal information in accordance with relevant data protection legislation. You warrant and undertake to us that all of the personal information you provide us with is complete and accurate. We will not disclose any personal information which is provided by you during the provision of such services to you to any third party without your permission, other than (i) to any sub-contractors or agents engaged by us to provide any support or administration, facilities management or similar services (subject to the sub-contractors and/or agents undertaking to keep such personal information confidential), (ii) to any company or organisation to which we transfer our responsibilities to provide these services and products to you or (iii) where required by law or made in connection with legal or regulatory proceedings.

We may log traffic data to assist us with the implementation of our terms and conditions and our fair use policy, although it is our policy to respect your privacy.

f. Breach of the Agreement

We shall investigate any suspect breach of the agreement by you, and reserve the right to take such action as we, in our sole discretion, deem appropriate, including suspension or withdrawal of the service with immediate effect and without notice to you.

  • Without prejudice to the foregoing generality we do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error free at all times or will meet your requirements; and we are not responsible for the security, integrity, accuracy, suitability or completeness of any information that you transmit or receive while using the service.
  • The disclaimer within this paragraph does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

h. Liability

  • Nothing in this agreement serves to exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury cause by our negligence.
