British Asparagus Festival 2012
The British Asparagus festival 2012 gets under way on the day that is generally recognised as the start of the asparagus season (23rd April 2012 St Georges day). Regional Finalist for the 2nd year running in 2011 and 3rd in the National Finals of the Where Else But England Awards - the British Asparagus Festival in the Vale of Evesham is definitely the place to be for all things green and quirky. And the Festival was one of the finalists in the 2011 Best One off Event/Festival in the Worcestershire Welcome Awards.

Olympic Torch Relay
The London 2012 Olympic/Paralympic Torch Relay will come within 10 miles of 95% of people in the UK, Isle of Man, Guernsey and Jersey. It will enable local communities to shine a light on the best their area has to offer – including celebrations of local culture, breathtaking landscapes and dynamic urban areas.
The London 2012 Olympic/Paralympic Torch Relay will be passing through Stroud, Cirencester and Cheltenham on its way through to Gloucester on the 23rd May; Broadway, Chipping Campden and Stratford-Upon-Avon on 1st July; and Woodstock, Bicester and Oxford on 9th July. View the full route online.

The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee 2012, will be celebrated by the lighting of at least 2,012 beacons around the world. The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Beacons is being planned for Monday, 4th June 2012 and is just one of the events being planned by Buckingham over the extended Diamond Jubilee Holiday.

Royal Ascot Week
During Royal Ascot Week, The Feathered Nest will be screening all races during the day and highlights during the evening.
Royal Ascot is one of the pinnacle events of the summer social season and the racecourse will be playing its part, in this historic year, in celebration of Her Majesty The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. The Royal Meeting will certainly be one of the must-attend events of the year to enjoy all of the pageantry and history of a quintessentially British day out.
The celebrations will commence at 2pm each day as Her Majesty The Queen arrives in her horse drawn landaus, with superb racing action from 2.30pm onwards including seven Group One races over the five days. After racing traditional singing around the Bandstand commences in Grandstand Admission at approximately 6pm.

2012 Wimbledon Championships
The Feathered Nest will be screening all matches and highlights where possible. Wimbledon is the oldest tennis tournament in the world, since 1877, and is the only Major Grand Slam tennis tournament still played on grass, the game's original surface, which gave the game of lawn tennis its name.
The tournament takes place over two weeks, culminating with the Ladies' and Gentlemen's Singles Final, scheduled respectively for the second Saturday and Sunday. Each year, five major events are contested, as well as four junior events and three invitational events.

Royal International Air Tattoo
Held annually each July at RAF Fairford, Gloucestershire, the Royal International Air Tattoo, the world's largest military airshow, has gained the well-earned reputation as one of the UK's top outdoor family events. Visitors to this summer's Royal International Air Tattoo, which will be celebrating the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, will have good reason to celebrate 60 glorious years of a different kind! Among the hundreds of aircraft taking part in the airshow, at RAF Fairford, on July 7-8 will be the giant B-52 'Stratofortress' strategic bomber, which first flew in April 1952.

2012 Brewin Dolphin Cheltenham Cricket Festival
Gloucestershire have been playing at Cheltenham for over 135 years making this the world’s longest running cricket festival. The ground’s idyllic setting has provided a perfect backdrop for the festival throughout its history, proving a successful attraction for cricket fans, new supporters and big cricketing stars. The 2012 Brewin Dolphin Cheltenham Cricket Festival runs from Wednesday 11th July to Sunday 22nd July and includes three CB40 one day matches and two LV= CC four day games.

Tewkesbury Medieval Festival
Tewkesbury Medieval Festival is Europe's largest free annual medieval battle re-enactment and fair. On 14th & 15th July 2012, thousands of re-enactors will travel from all round the world to help re-create the Battle of Tewkesbury of 1471.
