It is therefore a tremendous achievement for The Feathered Nest to win the Gold Award for the second consecutive year, the highest accolade for Excellence in Tourism, which VisitEngland can bestow. They have raised the bar for excellence for others to aspire to and I warmly congratulate them on their exemplary contribution to tourism in this country."
The Feathered Nest Country Inn received their award from David Wilson, Director of Public Affairs, British Beer & Pub Association, sponsors of the Tourism Pub of the Year Award: “We are very proud to sponsor this award. Pubs are a major attraction for tourist, serving great food and drink, and increasingly, providing wonderful places to stay. Pubs and Great British beer are a vital part of our hospitality industry and our way of life. I’m really delighted to see VisitEngland recognizing the contribution pubs make, with the Tourism Pub of the Year Award”.
Speaking on behalf of The Feathered Nest, Tony Timmer said “On the eve of the 4th anniversary of “The Nest”, it is with great delight that we are once again, for the second time in a row, being honoured with this prestigious Gold Award on a national scale. It is even more momentous as this follows hot on the heels of the “Beautiful South awards for Excellence” in which we also achieved our 2nd consecutive Gold Award for ‘Pub of the Year’ and a Gold for ‘Flavour of the South’ This is by no means an easy task and I am very proud of my team whom have all worked so hard to make The Feathered Nest such a welcoming destination for so many people from far and wide.”
